About
It all started with…
The story of this particular mission started with a call of God on the heart of a young Canadian believer to plant churches in South Sudan (then called Sudan). Vince Ward and his family along with Heather Huizing left North America in 2006 to begin living with the largest ethnic groups in South Sudan – the Dinka. They were joined by the Andrew Stringer family in 2007 and the Daniel Faris family in 2008. Together, these families sought to live out the gospel and learn from their neighbors as they experienced joys and challenges of establishing a new ministry. To God’s glory, they saw people coming to faith in Jesus Christ, young believers strengthened, and churches planted.
You can read more in Vince and Samuel Ward’s book, Pursuit of Glory.
Today, the current team seeks to come alongside native Dinka believers and encourage them as they lead their own churches and people in the praise and worship of God. This is done by providing theological training for pastors and elders, supporting the Weer Bei radio station to reach others with the gospel, and organizing Cush Christian School to provide a Christ-centered education for the next generation.
