A Prayer for the Muslim World

I want to pray for the Muslim world, Lord. Was there ever a people so ripe for the gospel?  Only you can convict of sin, change hearts, and open eyes to recognize Jesus as Lord and Savior, Son of God, risen from the dead.

Let them hear your Word;
make their hearts burn when they read and hear the Scripture.
Open their minds to understand the Scriptures;
cause them to see that the Messiah should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead,
that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all nations.

Father, draw millions to yourself from the clutches of Islam. You can do far greater than all we can ask or imagine. You can take broken lives and make them whole, working powerfully through your Holy Spirit working in us. Give your people the willingness and commitment to renounce Satan and all his works. Give your church perseverance in the faith, endurance in the face of persecution and suffering, forgiveness for those who have wronged them, courage and wisdom to face antagonists, love for family and those who oppress and hurt them, grace and strength for every situation, hearts that are anxious to share Jesus’ love and redeeming power with others.

Only you can do this, Lord.

I pray for the restoration of families, for godly marriages, for healing, and for bringing relationships into your alignment, especially in the area of gender roles. I pray for parents to raise their children before you in accordance with your principles and your strength and mercy. I pray for the next generation to be strong, godly, and whole, able to minister to both Muslims and Muslim background believers.

I pray that someday your glory will cover these lands shrouded in darkness, “as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab 2:14) I pray that they will become lands where you are worshiped and obeyed and that every people group will be impacted and influenced by your Word. And in the end, that there will be millions around your throne, joyfully kneeling and declaring that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
