“It’s all about JESUS”

It’s all about me JESUS!

We are naturally self-centered.

Just reading these opening words, you may be asking yourself, “What’s in this for me?

We cannot escape the self-orientation of our pursuits.

Do we acknowledge the fact that, without the effectual calling of the Holy Spirit, people will only have their own interests in mind?

In his life on earth, Jesus, knew the deepest longings (and needs) of the people he created. From his throne in heaven, he still searches each of our hearts.

“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:36

Jesus knew that their hunger and thirst would not be satisfied in anything they were searching for. He identified the things they longed for and presented himself as the only One who could satisfy their deepest desires.

The prophet Isaiah invited ALL to be satisfied in the LORD God,

“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters.” Isaiah 55:1

Jesus identified himself as the LORD God who can satisfy ALL who come to him:

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” John 7:37

It is no different today—the masses are thirsty, and Jesus is the thirst quencher.

When we talk to people—more importantly, when we listen to people—are we perceiving the motivations of their lives? Listening to understand, rather than prejudge. Listening to identify those fundamental questions they are asking of life?

Where can I find true love?

Is there any hope for me?

What is truth?

Where can I find freedom?

Is there any justice?

How can I be healed?

Where can I find peace?

How can the answers to these questions be found in us? Ever since the fall, we have been bereft of any solutions to the problems we create.

As we listen to what people are searching for, we can ask them, “Have you considered Jesus?”

The search is over when people come to the person of Jesus Christ. They have arrived, finally, to see him as the answer to their questions.

Your search for true love is over when you receive the love of God in Jesus.

Your search for hope is over when you put your hope in Jesus.

Your search for truth is over when you believe that Jesus is the Truth.

Your search for justice is over when you wait for Jesus to bring justice.

Your search for freedom is over when Jesus sets you free.

Your search for healing is over when you are healed by Jesus.

Your search for peace is over when you find true peace in Jesus.

In the search, it is ultimately it’s not about me but about JESUS.

Jesus is all sufficient in all things for all people.

In the free offer of the gospel, Jesus is all in all for all.

Here is an ‘inspirational’ video showing all of this in less than a minute.
